CHEST® Journal
The journal CHEST® is the official monthly publication of the American College of Chest Physicians.
The journal features the best in peer-reviewed, cutting-edge original research in the multidisciplinary specialties of chest medicine: pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine; thoracic surgery; cardiorespiratory interactions; and related disciplines. It is home to our highly regarded clinical practice guidelines and consensus statements.
Readers can find the latest research posted in the Online First section each week and access series that provide insight into relevant clinical areas such as Chest Imaging and Pathology for Clinicians, CHEST Pearls, and Ultrasound Corner.
In addition, the journal creates a variety of multimedia resources, including webinars, visual abstracts, podcasts, animations, and more hosted on the journal website and YouTube channel. Point/Counterpoint Editorials, the CHEST Journal Podcasts, and CHEST Journal Club webinars address controversial issues, fostering discussion among physicians.
CHEST has a 2019 impact factor of 8.308. It is ranked 6th among 64 respiratory systems journals and 4th out of 36 critical care journals.
