Emergency calls. The Italian equivalent of 911 is 113. Theoretically, there should be an English-speaking person available whenever you dial this number. But remember, it’s for emergencies, not for information.
Long-distance calls between major cities can be dialed directly on the public telephone by using the proper area code number. Calls to almost all foreign countries can be dialed directly (dial 0 + country code + area code + phone number).

Visa regulations vary based on nationality and country of origin. Visa requirements are determined by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

VISA PROCESSING TIME:
The processing period for visa issuance may vary between different visa applications. Therefore, visa applicants are reminded to apply early for their visa, well in advance of the anticipated travel date.

An official personalized letter of invitation will be provided to registered participants as part of the registration procedure.  This invitation is prepared solely for the purpose of visa applications and is not a commitment on the part of the organizers to provide any financial support or confirmation of inclusion in the Scientific Program.
Invitation letters can be provided electronically (PDF) or as a hard copy if required.  Hard copies will be mailed via regular post free of charge.  In case of special delivery (courier) request, the participant will be responsible for all charges.

Please do not leave bags or suitcases unattended at any time, whether inside or outside the session halls. Hotels strongly recommend that you use their safety deposit boxes for your valuables.
The CHEST Congress 2020 Secretariat and Organizers cannot accept liability for personal accidents or loss of or damage to private property of participants. Participants are advised to take out their own personal travel and health insurance for their trip.

In June in Bologna is moderately hot, with average temperature varying between 27.6°C (81.7°F) and 15.7°C (60.3°F). It is very sunny and humid. We recommend adding a jacket to your luggage, as there is still the possibility of rainfall.

Though tested safe for drinking, the water in Bologna and the province is very hard and contains high levels of calcium and chlorine.  The water may also have an odor or a foul taste.  For people with sensitivities, it is recommended to drink bottled water.
A cheap alternative to bottled water runs from public water fountains that can be found in all towns and villages. This water is free, tasteless, drinkable (potable), and readily available from marked water posts everywhere. And it is safe for tourists to stop and take a drink or fill up their drinking bottles from these fountains instead of carrying bottled water around.

In Italy, the power plugs and sockets are of type F and L. The standard voltage is 230 V and the standard frequency is 50 Hz.

As Organizers of the CHEST Congress 2022 taking place in Bologna, Italy on 27-29 June 2022, we entrusted SINTEX SERVIZI srl Milan, as a Provider ECM num. 4079 and to collect the applications form for CME accreditation by Agency AGENAS and the Pharmaceutical Companies for the Agency AIFA procedure, in compliance with the instructions given by the Legislative Order 219 of the 24th April 2006 – art. 124.
